What is Battle of the Buffalo?

First hosted in the spring of 2009, Battle of the Buffalo celebrates the tasty buffalo creations of local restaurants and amateur cooks around the Tennessee Valley. The ever-popular buffalo chicken wing takes center stage every year as thousands of wings are enjoyed by guests. This year we are expanding and providing other food choices to accommodate all types of taste buds. This plus the vastly improved variety of entertainment including impressive live music acts, a mechanical buffalo, and plenty of other fun attractions to keep families having a great time throughout the afternoon. The event is held in memory of Paul “Fish” Salmon who passed away from leukemia in 2007. Paul was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity at UAHuntsville, the event is held in his memory and has raised over $100,000 for the Russel Hill Cancer Foundation, and is only going to keep getting bigger every year.

When is Battle of the Buffalo?

Battle of the Buffalo will be hosted at the Big Spring Park on Saturday, April 11th , 2015.

How does Battle of the Buffalo raise money for cancer research?

Guests attending the event pay general admission for tickets to exchange for wings from vendors and listen to live music. Aside from general admission, guests can purchase commemorative cups and t-shirts, or participate in the afternoon’s wing eating competition. Finally, we raise money through acquiring sponsorships from local companies and businesses in the area.
